Many women can sense their breakthroughs – Personally, Professionally and Spiritually -- but the challenge is moving from “sensing” to realizing. Women have always had an innate ability to “make things happen,” but even with this ability, obstacles often stall and prevent them from moving forward. This Conference will offer tools and solutions designed to empower and inspire women to take charge and “make it happen.” Preaching, teaching, fellowship and unique small group exercises will invite you to become the God-inspired architect of your change.

8:30 a.m.              Registration and Continental Breakfast

9:00 a.m.              Opening Worship Service – Make It Happen

10:00 a.m.            Session One - Write the Vision

Habakkuk’s direction from the Lord, write the vision and make it plain, was clear – but our practical application of this direction is often unclear. Where am I going? What am I doing? Relationally, professionally, spiritually – this is a question women ask themselves daily. This opening session challenges women to write a vison statement for their lives. A personal vision statement can guide your life and provide the direction necessary to chart the course of your days and the choices you make about your career and personal growth. In darkness, this God-inspired statement can be a shining light to help you find your way.

10:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Break

10:45 a.m.            Group Exercise – Write the Vision

Creating a vision board can help you unlock dreams, goals, and successes in your life. During this exercise, ladies will paste and tape collage images from various magazines and newspapers. It sounds simple – but it’s a powerful exercise as you begin to surround yourself with images of who you want to become, what you want to have, or where you want to live, your life changes to match those images and those desires.

11:45 a.m.            Reflections

Noon                    Lunch

                          Food, fun and fellowship

1:00 p.m.              Praise and Worship

1:15 a.m.               Session Two – The Picture God Sees

In one of the bibles most often quoted illustrations, the Lord urged Jeremiah to observe the work of the potter and what he did with a marred piece of clay -- he molded and fashioned it into something usable. This, according to The Lord, is what He is able to do with our lives. This artistic illustration demonstrates God’s ability to see beyond our mistakes and assure us that there is nothing too hard for Him. As we prepare to close our conference with a practical artistic exercise, our preacher reminds us about “the picture God sees.”

1:45 p.m.              Group Exercise – Putting It All Together

This entire day has focused on recapturing your vision and dream. The day closes with this unique way to unlock your creativity and illustrate what “making it happen” will look like as you move forward.   Don’t be intimated – no painting experience is needed and paint, canvas and brushes are provided. And, everyone will leave the day with a canvas which illuminates our collective vision of “making it happen. ” This exercise, which is being used across the Country, will be unique, fun, relaxing, engaging and powerful.

3:45 p.m.              Conference Closing

Our Young Adult Ministries

Our Young Adult Ministries are geared towards those members of our congregations age 18-35. These ministries exit to offer consistent and diverse ministry activities that promote enhanced discipleship, meaningful fellowship, responsible stewardship, and healthy relationships. Each 3rd Sunday is Youth and Young Adult Takeover Sunday at the 9:30am and 11:30 worship services. Here's some more information about our ministries:

Generation Impact

Generation Impact is designed to support those young adults who are not currently attending an institution of higher learning. Many participants are single adults whose primary activities revolve around work or community activities, but some members also have young families. Generation Impact's 2015 theme is "Our Time is Now" - with a focus on empowering young adults to become consistently active in the life of Morning Star as the ministry seeks to build and rebuild lives. Some of our 2015 activities include:

  • Open Mic Night - March
  • Spiritual Development and Leadership Retreat - April
  • Young Adult Emphasis Weekend - July

To the end, we host a college breakfast each 3rd Sunday at 11am as past of Youth and Young Adult Takeover Sunday. College Emphasis Sunday is held every October.

We believe children are a gift from God …

The Bible urges us to train up a child "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."  Morning Star takes this charge seriously – and operates a Children’s Ministry that ministers to the spiritual, intellectual and physical needs of elementary school children.  Events and programs are offered to all children and are conducted in a safe, Christian environment where staff and volunteers make meeting the needs of our young people the priority.

The Children’s Ministry offers numerous activities and ministry opportunities for children, including trips to area attractions.  There are also recurring events such as Resurrection Activities (April), Children’s Day (June) and Harvest Fest (Halloween).  Children can also sing on the Choir, dance with the Dance Ministry or minister with our Mime Ministry.  Complete a Ministry Interest Form for additional information.

Spiritual Growth

The Ministry offers a 1st Sunday Children’s REAL Worship Service at 9:30 a.m.

A Church School Program is offered for children and adults on the 2nd through 5th Sundays at 9:30 a.m.

A Children’s Bible Study meets on Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Our Ministries for Youth

• Rites of Passage Young Men's Mentoring
• Daughters of Imani Program for Young Girls
• REAL Worship
• Fellowships and Activities

"Anyone who works in the church knows that junior high may be the single most pivotal period for spiritual decisions in the lives of our children."  Rick Warren, Senior Pastor of Saddleback Church

Two significant life-phases overlap during the young-teen years: the openness and responsive characteristic of childhood; and the forward-looking attitudes of teenage years.  Young people are open to Christ during these years and Morning Star provides ministry opportunities which shape and strengthen the faith of our youth.  One of the biggest challenges to this vision is the fact that young teens experience change in every aspect of development: physical, emotional, cognitive, relational and social.  A full-time youth minister, along with a host of committed ministry volunteers work diligently to ensure Morning Star ministers to the young person in their entirety.

The Youth Ministries of Morning Star are committed to developing holistic ministry opportunities that put our young people in the best position to succeed in life.  This is done by instilling in them an understanding of who God is, godly principles; a strong sense of value and purpose; educational importance; and the tools required to be successful in life.

Our mentoring programs - Rites of Passage and Daughters of Imani - are nationally recognized, providing weekly instruction in professional, social and spiritual development.  Our REAL Worship experience provides fellowship and spiritual growth opportunities. In addition, there is an array of social activities that provide youth with the opportunity to have fun, bond and develop life-long friendships.

The Rites of Passage Young Men's Mentoring is coordinated by a group of dedicated men from our Men's Ministry.  Sessions meet on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sunday of each month @9:30 a.m.
The Daughters of Imani Young Ladies Mentoring is committed to training our young ladies into becoming jewels in the church and in the community.  Sessions meet on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sunday of each month @9:30 a.m.
REAL Worship is a complete Worship experience hosted by and for our young people on the 1st Sunday of each month at 9:30 a.m.
Youth Bible Study meets on Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Fellowships and Activities are held throughout the year. Specific information is available on the Events section of the website or from members of the Youth Ministry volunteer team.

Supporting Our Worship and Arts Ministries
In addition to the “out front” ministries (singers, dancers), there are a number of ministries which support our Worship & Arts presentations.  From our Audio Visual Ministries, whose volunteers ensure the congregation “sees “ and “hears” quality sound and video presentations; to our Media Sales and Bookstore Ministries which produce and distribute ministry materials including CD’s, DVD’s, books and special products.  These ministries also welcome your involvement.  Volunteers are needed to operate cameras, edit videos, work the sound board for ministry activities and staff the production and sales aspects for our media and book sales.
