OUTREACH MINISTRIES

HOME / OUTREACH MINISTRIES

The Bible challenges us to see beyond our needs to the needs of others.  The Ministry of Morning Star takes this challenge seriously – offering a wealth of ministry opportunities for persons who may not meet inside the walls of Morning Star, but desperately need the love and care of God and His people.  We want to stand faithful in response to the word – “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me” Matthew 25:35-36.

The ministries include:

The Food Pantry at Morning Star continues to be a source of hope and blessing to our church and community.  To date the pantry has served thousands. Your donations, which help feed families in need for an entire week are greatly appreciated!  Please keep them coming, so we can continue to be a blessing in our Community. Please bring your donations to church on Sundays and place them in the marked bins or deliver them to 6665 Security Boulevard, Monday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Distribution times for families of all sizes, are currently By Appointment Only. Schedule an appointment through Minister Helen Carpenter at hcarpenter@msbcministries.org or by calling (410) 747-3417.

The Great Commission Ministry – shows the love of Christ and takes His Word primarily to those outside the walls of Morning Star. This Ministry is primarily in nursing homes, but we also serve patients at Spring Grove State Hospital and servicepersons at the USO. This Ministry also serves people in other countries through foreign mission projects and mission trips.  The Ministry meets on the first Saturday of each month.

The Bereavement Ministry extends comfort, care and spiritual support for bereaved families throughout their grieving process. The Ministry is built on God’s word and ministers under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Above all, the Ministry encourages those grieving to “cast their burdens on the Lord and He shall sustain them” Psalms 55:22.

Toastmaster’s Ministry – This group is all about public speaking.
